2011 - 2012 Winter Break
The league winter meeting was recently held and several important changes were announced. This included several changes to the League Cup Playoff format. In order to accommodate all 37 teams in the Millar's Memorial Cup there will be a series of five playdown games for the main cup draw. Millar's League resumes play from the winter break on Jan 2nd and will see the first five midweek games used to determine the Memorial Cup Draw. The schedules for all draws are available on the main Schedules page on this site. Millar's League has also announced the Master's Divisions Cup. This Cup will be available to the teams from the O30's and O40's divisions and will be played in conjunction with the main Cup tournaments.
Mandatory Card Checks!
When the season resumes in January and for the duration of this year the league will be instructing all refs to conduct a player card check prior to the game. Any player who does not have a card is not eligible to play. Under no circumstances can a player who has no picture ID and no player card participate in a game! If a player has a government photo ID (drivers license or passport) that player may participate in the game - at the discretion of the opposing teams coach/manager - and that game will be played under protest. The league will subsequently determine the eligibility of the player and act accordingly. In any event a player who participates in a game without a player ID card is subject to a $25 fine IF they are properly registered with the league. If it is determined that the player is not properly registered then that player is an illegal player and the penalties applied to both the team and player are defined in the rules and regulations section of this web site.
New Rule!
Effective immediately any person who enters a field of play to engage a referee or to join in an altercation is subject to a three game suspension. This is a league mandated minimum suspension and therefore not subject to appeal. It also should be recognized that this penalty will be in addition to any other discipline that may result from the event(s) of that match.
